My therapeutic approach is all about you, the client. My goal is to make therapy a warm and safe space to help you make the changes you wish to make. I am flexible and will use different types of therapy depending on your needs and preferences. I often use a blend of client-centered, relational, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic therapies. I also often conceptualize using attachment and family systems theory. We will decide at the beginning of our work what will feel like the best fit for you.
A Good Fit
I work with individuals and couples from ages 15 and older. I find that I can offer the best support to individuals who are struggling with relationship and family problems, depression, anxiety, work stress, challenging life transitions, questions about identity and sexuality, and trauma and loss. Couples that I see are often having problems with communication, trust, or wish to improve the general quality of their relationship. Some couples are also trying to determine if they wish to part or want to clarify what they are hoping their relationship to look like in the future.
I am happy to work with individuals and couples facing other problems not listed above and will help you to find a different therapist if you are seeking support in an area I do not cover.
I am an ally and welcome all gender identities and sexualities.
The First Appointment & What to Expect
The first step is an intake appointment. During this first appointment I will try my best to get to know who you are as an individual or a couple and understand what current challenges you are facing. You will also have the opportunity to ask me whatever questions you might have.
I strive to make therapy stress-free. All paperwork will be sent to you to fill out online before our first session. After contacting me we can schedule a phone call if you have any questions or would like anymore information before meeting.
Experience & Education
During my education, training, and post-graduate work I have gotten to work in many different settings allowing me to work with many different people. I have been lucky enough to work with people who are diverse in age, nationality, occupation, economic status, race, gender identity and sexual preference. I deeply value individual differences and respect all people.
